College Advert

To start the advert we had to decide as a group what course our advert would be about and some simple ideas, we decided we were going to do ours about Music. We came up with the idea of doing a sample of really bad music before introducing strode and then showing a bit of really good music to show that strode is a good college and you can learn/improve a-lot.

After coming up with a few ideas, we needed to script a rough copy so we could work on our advert, after a few tries we came up with our script and who was saying which bit after we did that we then had to go down to the studio and work out how the equipment worked before then recording our lines.

In the studio we took it in turns to read out our lines and giving each-other advice so we could improve it to the best of our ability, then a few days later we were given the opportunity to work with the performing arts students, we got them to read through our scripts and we used some of their voices in the final take.

As we had finished going through the script and we had to then put it all together and edit it. We had to put all the voice clips together in the order and ways we thought fit best before putting the music in the right places to fit with the script.

This is the finished screenshot of my work, in wavelength format. I used the cut tool a lot during this process to be able to get everyones best bits to make the audio the best it could be, it took me a while to find the best way it all fit but eventually i made it into the way i wanted.

We had to do a small recce to work out the hazards of the studio so we were all prepared for all the things that could go wrong. This involved loosing scripts, so we had to have spares, the wires and making sure we didn’t trip over them as well as making sure we knew how the equipment worked.

In this photo you can see all the other people in my group and the other group, this is from inside the booth so you can also see the mac we were recording everything onto as well as the sound controller and the soundproof pads in the right side. I felt like i needed a photo from inside the booth to really show off all the equipment that went into making our radio advert.
